Yoshi’s New Island appears to be shaping up very nicely for its March 14 release. Until recently, many of the major gaming media sites were quiet about the upcoming 3DS game.
For those of you hoping to learn a bit more about Yoshi’s New Island, check out this brand-new “vehicle transformation” trailer, showcasing Yoshi’s ability to transform into a helicopter and a miniature truck.
Personally, I could not be more thrilled about it. It is a follow-up to one of my favorite SNES games; it appears to be doing some innovative things with the series’ unique platforming style, and its adorable visual design certainly lends itself perfectly to the handheld’s 3D effects.
My only request is that Yoshi’s New Island features some kind of tie-in to Sonic: Lost World – wouldn’t that be cool, after the recent Sonic title featured DLC stages based on Yoshi’s Island?
