Smash 4 - Art 1

Sakurai Shows off Smash Bros. for 3DS, Wii U

In case you missed it this morning, Super Smash Bros. 4 (or whatever you’d like to call it) was shown off for the first time. Gameplay footage, new characters, new stages…all kinds of information was revealed.

I’m a little slow in getting around to the Nintendo Direct news from this morning, but after the break, I’ve included the video walk-through of both the Nintendo 3DS & Wii U versions of the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title, as well as concept art for many of the new & returning characters.

First, the video of Masahiro Sakurai demonstrating both the handheld and console versions of Super Smash Bros. 4:

For those of you not paying attention, the 3DS version will have exclusive stages based on handheld entries in the respective franchises…such as the Spirit Tracks stage, Super Mario 3D Land stage, and more. You may have spotted these in the video above.

Also, I thought I’d put up the concept art of most of the confirmed characters – with the exception of the Wii Fit Trainer, but including Mega Man and the Villager from Animal Crossing:
